The lily-white Swedes and Finns have ‘pure genes’, but we marry ‘ethnics’ and different ’species’. White folks are not ‘ethnics’ in America, so the ‘other species’ are exactly the peoples you’d expect Fox would assume to be as much.
Since I’m a genetics guy, I can speak with a little authority on this: If you can interbreed with a group of individuals and produce viable offspring, they’re not a ‘different species.’
Part of Brian’s position on the Fox panel is to be outrageous, silly, poke fun, say (intentionally) stupid things to get a rise out of, in this case, Gretchen, who is totally Swedish and from Minnesota.
People with a sense of humor who don’t politicize everything including oxygen, get this. Pretend he’s as distasteful, hypocritical and rude as Letterman and Farken and call it comedy.

Sorry, Jane–it was a study about how aging partners stave off Alzheimers better than loners. It has no genetic basis to speak of.
Even if he was trying to be outrageous and hilarious, Scandinavians being ‘pure’ and our choosing ‘ethnic’ and ‘interspecies’ people to marry isn’t real funny.

I suppose you could chalk this up as unfunny-humor but humor nonetheless. But you would be reaching. People on Fox have a hard time detaching themselves from politics because um you know, they’re on Fox spouting opinions about political topics. Also, Toma didn’t politicize it. He pointed out how retarded that guy is. Also, if you don’t think Franken and Letterman are funny it might be time to check what your politicizing.
